An Aston that sprints from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds … while hauling toddlers
The big news for the 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S is its increase in power. Its 5.9-liter V12 engine’s output surges up 80 hp to 550 hp, and top speed is increased 7 mph to 190 mph. The 0-60-mph sprint takes just 4.7 seconds.
But there’s more to the four-seater than performance.
In this video, senior west coast editor Mark Vaughn tests the Aston ahead of its U.S. arrival in June, giving a few justifications for its $200,000 price tag with the help of some cute kids and an expanding-cargo-space demo.
Don’t worry: There are also enough gratuitous 0-60 launches and rumbling exhaust growls to keep those less concerned with grocery-hauling happy.
